2) BE – AE (Aeronautical Engineering) :
This is a 4-year undergraduate
course. It is ranked No 1 by Anna University & the AICTE
among Chennai’s engineering colleges in an evaluation
done in 2009. Infrastructure in the labs is better than
in any other college in the city. Industry placements
ensure that students get hands-on experience in an
actual workplace. Equal stress is laid on aircraft
structures, aerodynamics and aircraft propulsion.
Students are taught the importance of airplane design
and projects are related to maintenance of these
machines. Field visits are organised by the college to
aeronautical and space establishments. Training is given
in special areas such as CFD and FEM. An aero modeling
club has been formed to create awareness about the
practical aspects of design and flying. Based on the
student’s academic performance, airplane flight
laboratory training in gliders and powered aircraft is
made available in the pre-final year.

Labs:
A twin-engine Cessna plane helps students get hands-on
experience in flight design and the working of an
aircraft. A wind tunnel, testing equipment and a jet
engine find space in the labs so students can see what
they learn and understand their subject better.
HoD:
Dr K Vijaya Raja 14 years of teaching experience has
made him the perfect man to head PBCE’s Aero Dept. Dr
Vijaya Raja is a prolific writer, co-authoring many
papers in national & international journals. His passion

Electronics Engineering) :
This is a 4-year
undergraduate course. PBCE’s EEE department has been
ranked 5th amongst all engineering colleges in Chennai
by Anna University & the AICTE in 2009. Key speakers
from the industry address students periodically and
students are asked to work on live projects. The EEE
department offers excellent practical training in
electrical machines, power electronics, electric
circuits, control systems and computer simulation. The
department has a separate library with a collection of
300 books.
Labs:
Labs are well-equipped with the latest instruments from
a simple voltmeter to cathode ray oscilloscopes and
computers with the best simulation software. Labs are
