SOFT SKILLS :

Communication is vital for a student’s career and in everyday life. PB College recognises the importance of communication and employs specialised trainers to groom students to write, speak and communicate better. Experienced soft skills trainers work with students to create knock-out resumes and teach them to hold their own with employers, preparing them for a lifetime of interaction with people from cultures across the world. A modern English Lab helps students use their English skills to their advantage. Resume-writing, group discussions and mock interviews help hone English writing and speaking skills.

S Sundari: She has close to 10 years of experience in soft skills training. She brings wide experience in business English and soft skills training for employees of L&T, TCS, Cognizant and the New Indian Express. Ms Sundari has traveled the world imparting her knowledge of soft skills and has received BEC certification from the British Council. She heads a group of trainers who work with students at the college.

Soft Skills, as opposed to hard skills (such as technical skills), focuses on those elements of training that require changes in behavior and thinking. PB College of Engineering has recognized that the soft skills training of our students’ plays an important part in their success at interviews. Being an institution that endeavors to be on the path of continuous development we have found that upgrading the ‘soft skills’ of our students is a necessary part of learning. It also shows the interest that the institute has in the professional development of the students.

The management of PB College of Engineering has long realized that soft skills are high in the list of requirements for global business environment; hence an important part of wholesome training. We have found that soft skills training in areas such as cultural sensitivity, business etiquette, telephone etiquette, e-mail etiquette, good communication skills, presentation skills and listening skills, make a greater impact on employers from across the world rather than merely a high degree of technical skills.

It is with this objective of making our students more competitive in their career that we have tied up with a capable training organization headed by Ms. Sundari Ravishankar to impart training in this area. We find that the students enjoy these classes and greatly enriched by this programme. Our soft skills training programmes encompass a wide range of skills that most organizations find an integral and necessary part of everyday business. From basic language and communication skills to goal setting, social etiquette and handling interviews the programme conducted by the experts offers a wide range of soft skills training to address every student’s need.

These training programmes are usually designed and developed based on the analysis of industry needs and is delivered at our college campus.
