SPORTS:
PB College gives enormous
importance to sports for all-round development of the student. Students are
encouraged to participate in sporting competitions and offer excellent facilities. The PB College
premises house a 4 acre ground for cricket and football. 2 brand new basketball
courts have been constructed and volleyball nets are available for students to indulge
their passion. Students also have access to indoor games like chess, carrom and
table tennis. Experienced coaches guide students and top-of-the-rack gear is available
for use by students. 12th standard school students compete for the coveted PB Trophy
every year. This cricket tournament has met with overwhelming success since its
inception. The tournament carries a cash prize and a rolling shield for the winning
team. This is an event that is eagerly awaited by school students in
Chennai every
year.

| Sports activities occupy
a signification part of the college curriculum at P.B. College of Engineering, Physical
Education & sports play vital role in achieving the aims and objectives of education.
Keeping in view the importance of sports in today’s scientific era and its vitality
in shaping overall personality and “health &fitness” of the individual, the
college lays considerable emphasis on students participation in various games, sports
and track and field activities. Facilities ‘Sports and Games’ is an area much sought
after by the student community of this college. Playground and equipment for outdoor
and indoor games facilities are available for meeting the enthusiasm of such student

Activities at a glance :
Department of physical education conducted a Anna University Zonal Athletics sport’s
Meet at our college premises on 17,18 and 19th of September 2008. Dr.Sugumar, Sports
Secretary, Anna University was the chief guest for the inaugural function. Department
of Physical Education Conducted a Gowri Shankar Memorial Rolling Trophy an Inter-college
Throw Ball tournament for Women on 26.02.2009. Shri G.Venkataraman, Chairman P.B.C.E
was the Chief Guest for the Inaugural function, 18 colleges participated in this
tournament.

Achievements :
Students of this college have achieved remarkable feats as Winner and Runner-up
ranging from the intercollegiate to University level in games and athletic events.
Many of our students have won medals, Certificates and cash prizes at Anna University
and Zonal and Inter-Zonal levels tournament in Throw Ball, Volley Ball, Table Tennis,
Chess, Kabbadi and Foot Ball. In the Anna University
Zonal sports meet our college participated in most of the events and also brought
laurels in its record.

Inter Zonal.
-Mr.Naveen, student of III ECE & Mr.Vishnu, student of II EEE, was selected
in FootBall Inter Zonal.
-Mr.S.Nijandan, student of First year C Section, has got State level cup & certificate
in chess
- Ms.M.Mahalakshmi, student of 2nd year IT, has got secured second prize in the
Zonal Athletics Meet at P.B.College of Engineering in the event 800 mts.5000mts,
1500 mts

- Mr.Rajesh, student of 2nd aeronautical has got 7th
place Rs. 500 award and certificates in the Long
distance athletics.
-Mr.Anilkumar, Varma, Prithivi Rajan, Zain-ul Abdeen,
Bala, Subramanian, Surenthiran, student of II AE and
Muthu Jagadesh, Tej Narayanan Sing, student of II EEE
has got certificates in State Level Athletics.

certificates in State Level Toukwon-do.
